I am writing a memorial booklet about my husband's life as a Musky fisherman on Chautauqua Lake. As he was a former member, I thought I would reach out to other pro's who are also knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to this sport for information as I know nothing about it. I'm hoping you will help me with this endeavor.
My purpose for writing this booklet is not only paying a tribute to him, but to also pass on his knowledge and hopefully inspire others to fish. I want to make sure I have the best information I can find to share with others.
So far I have written an introduction on the history of the lake which includes its formation, geographical features, and name origin. I am now starting on the fishing part and would like your input. As I have described the north & south basins, I would like to know if there are any difference between them for successful catches. I might be going into too much detail, but I don't want to exclude something that may be an important factor.
My husband fished both areas of the lake trolling and casting as well, but I have forgotten so much of what he said over the years about his numerous fishing excursions.
Any information you can share with me on this particular topic would be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure I'll be asking for more advice in the future.
Thank you,
Donna

Do you live in the Chautauqua Lake area? If so we have a member who is very knowledgeable on the lake and is a wealth of information. His name is Mike Michael Sperry and owns and operates Chautauqua Reel Outdoors. He would definetly be the best influence on any topics regarding the lake. Let me know if this helps at all

Head on over to the future of our muskies page if you would like to take part in a fundraiser we will be having. There are some real great baits that you won't want to miss!!!! ... See MoreSee Less
